# Mayhem Azir: Building an Infinite Soldier Legion with Big Brain and Eureka

GameMode: MAYHEM
Champion: Azir
Patch: 16.18

This guide is based on Rainbow Flavor's “Computer-Lagging ‘Infinite Toothpick’ Emperor Azir.” It covers a build for
Azir that continuously summons soldiers with
Archmage and
Eureka, while using
From Downtown to supplement its damage.
The soldiers' flashy visual spectacle and their actual combat power are two different things. Positioning your soldiers so they can attack enemies and keeping Azir himself alive are more important than simply summoning as many as possible.
## The Essentials First
• Core augments: Big Brain + Eureka
• Additional synergy: Rocket Delivery
• Recommended item path: Nashor's Tooth → Rabadon's Deathcap
• Against high magic resistance, build Void Staff; if Azir himself dies first, build Zhonya's Hourglass
• Fight pattern: W placement → Soldier attacks → Q repositioning → W replenishment
• Save E and R for survival instead of wasting them to cycle cooldowns
• Without the core augments, don't force a playstyle built around continuous summoning
## Augment Build

### Big Brain: Cycle Other Abilities Again
When you use an ability,
Archmage refunds 30% of that ability's cooldown to another random ability.
The ability receiving the refund is random. Don't interpret this as
Azir W - Arise! being guaranteed to reset every time. Continue attacking and repositioning while watching which ability actually comes back and how many soldier charges you have.
Just because your abilities come back quickly doesn't mean you should keep pressing every button. If enemies can reach Azir himself, saving E and R is more important than summoning additional soldiers.
### Eureka: Boosts Ability Cycling Alongside Ability Power
Eureka grants Ability Haste equal to 30% of your Ability Power. Based on the values shown in the original, 500 Ability Power gives you 150 Ability Haste.
Since Ability Power contributes not only to damage but also to ability cycling, investing in Ability Power becomes more valuable once the build is complete. However, Ability Haste is a different stat from cooldown reduction and does not guarantee infinite summoning on its own.
### Rocket Delivery: Adds Damage When Your Attacks Connect
After completing its ability-hit quest,
From Downtown causes a meteor to launch when your abilities hit, dealing magic damage around the impact area. Despite its name, this is not a dash-oriented augment.
Don't just stack soldiers—make sure their attacks actually connect with enemies. The original does not provide enough information to confirm whether each soldier triggers a separate meteor or what the internal cooldown is.
### If You Didn't Get the Core Augments
Without Big Brain, you cannot rely on random cooldown refunds; without Eureka, you cannot rely on converting Ability Power into Ability Haste.
In that situation, don't fixate on recreating the soldier legion. Focus on sustained damage based on the attack speed, Ability Power, and survival tools you currently have. No unverified augment has been designated as an equivalent replacement.
## Item Build
The recommendations below are practical additions suited to the augment combination. They are not a build that directly reproduces the original video's exact purchase order.

### Nashor's Tooth: Make Real Attacks with Your Summoned Soldiers
Nashor's Tooth is an option that provides both attack speed and Ability Power. Consider it when you can keep attacking with your soldiers from behind your frontline.
If you create a large number of soldiers but cannot direct them to attack and spend the whole fight running away, it becomes difficult to get value from the attack speed. First, secure a position where you can withstand the enemy's engage.
### Rabadon's Deathcap: Improve Eureka's Conversion Efficiency
Rabadon's Deathcap greatly increases Ability Power, boosting both your damage and Eureka's conversion of Ability Power into Ability Haste.
Prioritize it when you have enough time to attack safely and mana is not a major issue. Even if your abilities are already coming back quickly enough, delay stacking more Ability Power if Azir himself keeps dying first.
### Void Staff and Zhonya's: Solve the Bigger Problem First
•
Void Staff: When your attacks keep connecting but your damage is lacking because of the enemy's magic resistance.
•
Zhonya's Hourglass: When the enemy's dives and focused attacks kill Azir first, leaving you no time to deal damage.
The purchase order for these two items is not fixed. If survival is urgent, consider Zhonya's first. If you can attack safely but the enemy is surviving your damage, supplement your magic penetration.
Starter items and boots were not fixed because the original did not establish them. If frequent ability casts leave you short on mana, solve the resource problem before adding more damage.
## Ability Usage
### Basic Fight Pattern
1. Use
Azir W - Arise! to place soldiers where they can reach the enemy.
2. Use basic attacks to command the soldiers to attack.
3. If the enemy leaves their range, reposition them with
Azir Q - Conquering Sands.
4. Use W as it comes back to replenish soldiers at the current fight location.
5. If Azir himself is threatened, use
Azir E - Shifting Sands and
Azir R - Emperor's Divide to survive.
This is a fight pattern, not a level-by-level ability skill order. Don't automatically spend your mobility spell and ultimate just to increase the number of soldiers.
## How to Play Each Stage of a Fight
### Before the Fight: Establish Your Frontline and Escape Route First
Prepare your soldiers behind a position your allies can hold. Don't walk Azir forward first just to summon more soldiers.
Check your mana, the enemy's engage tools, and your retreat path before starting your attack. Don't enter the enemy team just because E is available again.
### During the Fight: Focus on Attackable Time, Not Soldier Count
Keep attacking while enemies remain within soldier range. If they move, reposition with Q; if the battlefield shifts completely, prepare new soldiers with W.
If the enemy still has a dash or engage tool available, save R to protect Azir instead of using it aggressively. E is also an escape route, not a button to use just for cooldown cycling.
### When the Enemy Is Poking from Range
Don't walk forward alone just because you have a lot of soldiers. Wait for your allies to engage or for the enemy to move, then place soldiers where they can attack.
It is better to clear the wave and prepare for the next fight than to endanger Azir by chasing enemies you cannot reach.
### After a Team Fight: Don't Recklessly Chase with Your Legion
Even if many soldiers remain, that does not guarantee they can keep attacking in the next fight. Move with your allies and prepare a new battlefield position.
If Azir becomes isolated during the chase, the number of soldiers you summoned will not keep you alive.
## Common Mistakes
• Assuming Big Brain guarantees a reset on W every time.
• Pressing abilities whenever they come off cooldown and running out of mana before the fight.
• Summoning soldiers but failing to command their attacks or reposition them.
• Using E and R for cycling, leaving no answer to the enemy's engage.
• Increasing your soldier count even when they cannot reach the enemy.
• Insisting on Ability Power items despite dying repeatedly.
• Treating flashy visuals as evidence of a high win rate or powerful solo-carry potential.
## One-Line Summary
Use Big Brain and Eureka to replenish your soldiers, but position them where they can reach the enemy and keep Azir alive long enough to attack—that is the core of this build.
## Scope
The augment descriptions were compiled based on the information shown in the original. The item choices and playstyle recommendations are supplementary suggestions based on that information. Unverified summoner spells, runes, and level-by-level ability orders have not been filled in arbitrarily.
The Classic mastery, “Classic Trait Build,” is not carried over into this Mayhem guide. Recheck the augment values and soldier interactions against the tooltip for the patch you are playing.
